Overview
Attract bucks with the HD™ Grunter Deer Call, designed to accurately mimic a buck's vocalizations. The quick-adjust reed is key for making modifications based on your environment, time of season, and deer behavior, allowing you to produce different types of grunts, from social grunts to aggressive, territorial grunts. The hardwood cherry body is durable and produces deep, resonant sounds that can carry over long distances in the field.
With the extendable tube, you can more easily manipulate the tone and direction depending on your situation. See our technique tips below.
Specifications
- Call type: Deer grunt
- Body: Hardwood cherry
- Rubber O-ring
- Extendable plastic tube
- Handmade in the U.S.A.
TECHNIQUE
- Place your lips on the wood end of the call.
- Use your finger and thumb to form a seal around the open end of the extendable tube; this will allow you to use your hand to help control the volume.
- Blow lightly with a short burst of air; this will produce the contact or social grunt.
To produce the rutting/trailing grunt, use more air to increase the volume and make short bursts putting 5-7 short grunts in succession, like a buck following a doe. To produce the growl, increase your volume even more and carry the grunt out in one long, low grunt that starts low and increases in volume and pitch.
ADJUSTING THE CALL
Carefully remove the wooden body from the tube section. Move the rubber O-ring higher for a higher pitched fawn bleat. The middle setting will mimic a young buck. Sliding the O-ring to the lowest setting will mimic a mature rutting buck.
