My First Deer

My name is Amber K. and I am 9 years old.  I asked my dad if he would take me deer hunting this year and he said he would take me during the late muzzle loader season.  We went for two days and saw 2 deer but they were too far away.  On our third night out we were sitting in our ground blind when just before dark two does and this buck came walking out.  The does fed near the standing corn and soon the buck walked right into the corn and out of sight.  I asked dad what to do.  He told me to grunt at him so I got my new Rack Blaster from Knight & Hale out and gave it a try.  The buck came right back out to see where the other buck was.  He must have thought it was a challenge or something.  I got a bead on him at 130 yards and I pulled the trigger of my Knight DISC Extreme.  When the smoke cleared the two does were still there but the buck was gone.  I asked my dad if I got him and he said he heard the bullet hit the buck.  We waited about a half an hour before we went to look for blood and man was that a long half an hour.  We took our flashlights to where he was standing and we could not find any blood.  I was starting to wonder if I missed or hit him bad.  My dad said that I should be patient and we should keep following the tracks in the snow for a while.  We followed the tracks to a fence that was about 20 yards from where he was standing when I shot and still no blood.  Dad crossed the fence and followed him a bit further and finally found some blood, a lot of blood.  Dad looked up a head and there he was not 15 yards from where dad was standing.  When I saw him I started to cry in joy.  I told dad that I had never cried in joy before only in anger or pain.  I could not believe how big he was.  I could not believe my luck.
Please keep up the good work and making the best outdoor products available and I will keep on using them.

Thanks,
Amber K.
